Safety

NSMC is committed to the safest jobs-sites in the industry. We have a comprehensive corporate safety program—and each and every employee is required to participate in safety training. The result:

  • For 17 consecutive years, we’ve been a winner in Associated Builders & Contractors prestigious STEP award safety competition. ABC’s national Safety Training and Evaluation Program (STEP) “GOLD” award for 2007. STEP awards are presented to companies recognized as having outstanding commitment to jobsite safety. It is the 8th “GOLD or PLATINUM” level safety award that NSMC has earned.
  • Our modification rating is typically well-below national averages for our industry, allowing us to participate in a SIG (self-insurance group) for Workers Compensation. The SIG is limited to ABC members with the highest safety records.
  • Our field workers are among the safest plumbers and pipers anywhere. Equally important, on occupied sites, in operating facilities, our clients and their stakeholders—workers, students, patients—stay safer.
