Project Description

Beverly Hospital’s Master Plan is a major multi-phased expansion and renovation project of the Beverly Hospital Campus. NSMC has been responsible for the plumbing and medical gas piping for 95,000sq.ft of additions and existing building renovations, with tie-ins to existing building infrastructure systems. To perform this work with-in the operating hospital—without interference to daily operations—and maintain noise control levels, extreme care with detailed planning and coordination was required on each phase of the build-out, relocation and subsequent staging for demolition as we moved through the facility.

Areas affected by the project included: reception, triage, emergency and ambulatory suite, nurse’s stations, psychiatric ward patient center, general patient rooms and medical office suites.

Project Description

This LEED (Leadership Energy & Environmental Design) Project includes a complete renovation of Phillips Academy’s historical dining facility, including installation of multiple new commercial kitchen and serving areas on three floor levels. NSMC is responsible for the plumbing systems and is actively involved with Consigli and selected MEP Teams to perform a detailed coordination effort that will maintain the historic qualities of this building. All construction is being conducted on an extremely tight construction schedule, while school remains in session, without interrupting the academic environment.

Project Description

This project involved converting a two-story shell building into multi-tenant doctors’ offices. NSMC was responsible for design and construction of the plumbing systems. NSMC created a design/build plan to create separation of the utilities (water, etc.,), to provide the owner with potential tenant flexibility. Some of the challenges with this new plumbing construction project included constant design changes based upon new tenant requirements & a tight construction schedule. Due to the coordination of the owner, GC and NSMC team, these challenges were met, with successful completion of the project on schedule.

Project Description

This renovation project consisted of working in multiple areas of Salem Hospital/North Shore Medical Center, including office space, examination suites and patient rooms. NSMC was responsible for all plumbing, demolition, and installation of new piping systems to support these renovations in the new exam and patient rooms. Coordination, in which NSMC was actively involved, was paramount to this project and required special consideration so as not to disrupt the daily activities of the hospital staff and its patients during the renovation process. NSMC was instrumental in coordinating the new Oxygen (O2) relocation of the hospital Oxygen (O2) main service/Tie-in.

Project Description

This project included the construction of a new 50,000sq.ft classroom building, with full service kitchen and serving facilities in the basement level and core toilet facilities. NSMC was responsible for all the plumbing services, sanitary waste, kitchen waste, water, rain-leader, etc. Because this project coincided with the academic school year, it required a detailed coordination effort by NSMC supervisors, who coordinated all mechanical systems and shutdowns without interfering with class schedules. Site logistics and safety were paramount throughout the project.
